IPELS 2007: Workshop Scope

IPELS 2007 is a workshop on current topics in plasma physics pertaining to experiments in laboratory and space. The workshop will bring together active members of the space and laboratory plasma physics communities from around the world and aims to foster intellectual interaction and scientific collaboration addressing the processes responsible for various space plasma phenomena.

Topics of particular interest to IPELS 2007 include:

• Astrophysical jets and acceleration mechanisms in plasmas

   

   

• Current sheets and magnetic reconnection

 

 

• Dynamos

 

 

• Plasma flow and transport in laboratory and space plasmas

 

 

• Chaos and turbulence in magnetized plasmas

 

 

• Dusty/complex plasmas in space and laboratory

 

 

• Active experiments in space: ground based and in situ

 

 

• New diagnostics and facilities for space and laboratory experiments

 

 

• New concepts in data analysis and modelling
