Australia to host 2011 International Stellarator/Heliotron Workshop

Dr. Boyd Blackwell announced today in the closing session of the 17th International Stellarator/Heliotron Workshop in Princeton, USA that the next International Stellarator/Heliotron Workshop will be hosted by the H-1 National Facility in Australia during 2011. More details to follow. 

Australian Fusion Energy Research gets prominent coverage from ANSTO/ANU MoU signing

Australian Fusion Energy Research received prominent coverage in reports of the signing of an MoU of collaboration between ANSTO and ANU. 
Yesterday, Senator Kim Carr witnessed the MoU signing by Prof. Ian Chubb, ANU Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Adi Paterson, CEO ANSTO.   
During his speech, Minister Kerr announced that the National Plasma Fusion Facility will receive $7M to fund infrastructure upgrades.

Significant funding for H-1NF in 2009 federal budget.

The Australian Government recently announced significant funding for upgrades in the 2009 budget, an allocation of $10M to be shared between the upgrade to the infrastructure of the H-1 National Plasma Fusion Research Facility, and some biofuels facilities.
